About Devuthani Ekadashi
Devuthani Ekadashi (also Prabodhini Ekadashi) marks Lord Vishnu waking up from his four-month cosmic sleep (Chaturmas). Weddings and auspicious functions resume after this day. Tulsi Vivah (wedding of Tulsi plant to Lord Vishnu) is performed.
🎉 Traditions & Customs
Tulsi Vivah ceremony — women perform the wedding of the Tulsi plant to a Shaligram stone or Lord Vishnu idol. First sugarcane of the season is offered. Wedding season officially begins after this day.
🌾 In Haryana & Mundakhera
Devuthani Ekadashi is called Devauthna in Haryana. Weddings scheduled for November onwards start after this day. Tulsi Vivah is performed by women in many homes.
