Dussehra celebrates Lord Rama's victory over the demon king Ravana, marking the end of Navratri. It symbolizes the triumph of righteousness (dharma) over evil. The 10-day Ramlila performance culminates on this day with the burning of Ravana's effigy.
🎉 Traditions & Customs
Giant effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghanada are burned. Ramlila performances, where episodes of Ramayan are enacted, are watched by thousands. Shami tree leaves are exchanged as a symbol of gold (Sona). Weapons, vehicles, and tools are worshipped (Ayudha Puja).

Nearby towns like Jhajjar and Badli organize large Ramlila events. Village youth participate in processions. Farmers consider this an auspicious day to start new ventures. The tradition of Sone ki patti (shami leaves gifted as symbolic gold) is actively practiced in Haryana villages.
